Political Correctness    The Death Knell Of America
By Woody Pendleton
Political correctness has come to America.  Tis no longer correct behavior to be honest, honorable and truthful.  If telling the truth puts out a bad impression of someone, something,or someplace, regardless of how true, we must not say it or even think it.  WHY?   IT'S NOT POLITICALLY CORRECT!!
We are not supposed to say that Islam is a theocratic organization founded on hate, domination, perversion and murder.   IT IS THE TRUTH , BUT NOT POLITICALLY CORRECT.   We are not to say we believe in the GOD of Isaac, Abraham and Jacob and that AMERICA is a Christian nation even though its true.  ITS NOT POLITICALLY CORRECT.
We are not to have our children learn the real history about our country,  honor its Constitution and Pledge  Allegiance to our Flag.  We are not to think highly or be proud of our nation.  WHY?   ITS NOT POLITICALLY CORRECT.
We are not to speak disparagently about our government or the people in office even when they are commiting treason against the nation and our Constitution and stripping us of our legal rights and freedoms in total violation of the Constitution.   ITS NOT POLITICALLY CORRECT.
We are to keep our thoughts to ourselves and our feelings are no longer pertinent to our stage in life.   The concept of owning anything will soon be no longer acceptable since the government is now claiming it owns it all as its right.  In fact even living our lives is becoming POLITICALLY INCORRECT.   When we reach age 70 we are no longer considered viable and an expense to the nation and will face termination.

Editors Note:  My Name is Bill Holland, Im 74 Years Old, I will fight you till Death, Smack you in the Face, Kick you in the Ball's - You may not listen because i'm not Politically Correct - but you will be hurting for a while --- GAR-UN-TEEEEED - Now can you strighten back up or is it going to take a while....No, I'm Not Sorry ? .

The United States Senate just voted 51-48 to gut the First Amendment.
Moments ago, the Democratic-controlled Senate led by Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada (pictured at the right) refused to restore religious liberty for all Americans, including our Catholic schools, hospitals, and charitable ministries. The roll call is below.

Senator Roy Blunt's amendment was offered to stop President Obama's unprecedented assault on our religious liberty. Obama's HHS mandate will soon force every employer, including Catholic hospitals, universities and religious organizations to pay for insurance policies that will offer contraception and abortion drugs for their employees.

The new mandate not only attacks our Church, but also threatens the freedom of every insurance company, every business and every American citizen.

Just think: 51 U.S. Senators just voted to affirm the right of our government to force you to pay for morally reprehensible drugs and procedures -- including drugs that destroy an innocent human life.

And we know this is only the beginning.

What do we do now?

The Catholic vote has been the center of attention in this debate.

We knew the vote would be close in the Senate, and so we have also been lobbying leaders in the House to answer the Senate with a vote FOR religious liberty. As of today, the Respect for Rights of Conscience Act has 220 co-sponsors and counting.

We are now calling on the House to likewise put every Representative on the record with a vote.

We are also working with legal experts to help bring new lawsuits to defeat this mandate in the courts.

And of course, we MUST vindicate our rights at the ballot box in November. The facts are plain: we need a new President and a new Senate. And this is entirely possible this year.

Finally, please do not fall for the trap. Do not despair!

Pray now that our fellow citizens will have the fortitude to persevere in this fight.

We know that every challenge for us is an opportunity to witness to our Faith.

What a glorious opportunity we have ahead of us.

No vote by a group of politicians will stop us from serving Our Lord.

Brian Burch

 - The bail paid for U.S. pro-democracy activists facing charges in Egypt ultimately came from the U.S. government, the State Department said on Friday.

Egyptian authorities had accused the workers, including the son of U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood, of working for groups receiving illegal foreign funding and had barred them from leaving the country.

The case put at risk $1.3 billion in annual U.S. military aid to Egypt, a cash transfer that began flowing after Egypt made peace with Israel in 1979, and it marked the deepest rift in U.S.-Egyptian relations in decades.

The travel ban was lifted this week and the U.S. State Department on Friday said 13 foreign workers -- six of them U.S. citizens -- had left Egypt on a private plane. The amount of bail paid for the U.S. citizens was set at about $330,000 each.

LaHood and three other activists from the International Republican Institute (IRI) arrived in the United States on Friday evening, a representative of the organization said.

Out of a total of 43 foreign and Egyptian workers who have been charged in the case, 16 were U.S. citizens and seven of those were in Egypt and had been subject to the travel ban. One of the seven chose to remain in Egypt, State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland told reporters.

The State Department declined to name the people, some of whom worked for the IRI and the National Democratic Institute, U.S.-funded nongovernmental organizations that seek to promote democracy abroad.

Nuland said the money to pay the bail ultimately came from the U.S. government, saying that the Obama administration had agreed to treat the legal expenses stemming from the incident "as part of the activities that the U.S. government funds."

"The NGOs paid the bail out of money that they received from the U.S. government," she said. "We agreed to this because the situation arose in the context of the democracy promotion work that they were doing that we had funded and supported."

Nuland said that it was up to the U.S. citizens who had left to decide whether to return to Egypt to face the charges.

She was unable to say whether the money would be forfeited to the Egyptian government if they did not, or whether the money would be returned to the NGOs or to the U.S. government if they return to stand trial.

"Our hope and expectation is that we can get this case dismissed," she said, saying that if it was dismissed the questions about the bail would "presumably" be resolved.

1 HOT POTATO THE SIZE OF A HAND             GRENADE.. By the Editor at Free Zone

Let's see how long the MSM can ignore This Story as the Investigation goes forward.. I found this comment on the Glen Beck Blog, who by the way seems to be joking about this matter for some reason.. Here's the Comment:

REMEMBER THE PROMISE OF TRANSPARENCY? Obama’s hidden records: Why are these off limits?1. Certified copy of original birth certificate (long form).2. Columbia University transcripts sealed.3. Columbia thesis paper sealed.4. Campaign donor analysis requested by 7 major watchdog groups.5. Harvard University transcripts sealed.6. Illinois State Senate records limited access.7. Illinois State Senate schedule limited access.8. Law practice client list and billing records/summary.9. Locations and names of all half-siblings and step-mother.10. Medical records (only the one page summary released so far)11. Occidental College Transcripts hidden.12. Parent’s marriage Certificate not available.13. Record of baptism.14. Selective Service registration records. (Did Obama Register?)15. Schedules for trips outside of the United States before 2007.16. Passport records for all passports. 17. Scholarly articles.18. Where are all of the relevant documents?25. Why isn’t Michelle Obama still a member of the Illinois bar? Where are all of the relevant documents? The main-stream press has always called the people who have believed that there is a problem involving this investigation as radicals and has named them "birthers and conspiracy theorists." No answers have been provided to this question that many are now asking? Why would a natural born US Citizen spend over One Million Dollars to avoid proving they are a natural born US Citizen? If he is a citizen, why not just show the $15.00 dollar long form? In other words, Why has Barry Soetoro, (Barack Obama's real name), hired numerous law firms and spent upwards of a million dollars trying to keep an official, ANY official, from seeing a $15 birth certificate, his passport records and his college transcripts? Forget the birth certificate for a second, why are his lawyers also hiding his passport records and his college transcrips?

Breaking NEWS : Sandra Fluke Exposed As Fraud, Activist, Possible White House Operative – With Video

Posted 3:17 pm by BH 3-3

This broad went to the school strictly to challenge its insurance’s contraceptive policy, not even as a real student…and all magically timed to coincide with Obama’s big contraceptive push…
Excerpted from Jammie Wearing Fool:
Sandra Fluke’s Appearance Is No Fluke
Posted by Just a Grunt on Mar 02, 2012 at 10:49 am
For me the interesting part of the story is the ever-evolving “coed”. I put that in quotes because in the beginning she was described as a Georgetown law student. It was then revealed that prior to attending Georgetown she was anactive women’s right advocate. In one of her first interviews she is quoted as talking about how she reviewed Georgetown’s insurance policy prior to committing to attend, and seeing that it didn’t cover contraceptive services, she decided to attend with the express purpose of battling this policy. During this time, she was described as a 23-year-old coed. Magically, at the same time Congress is debating the forced coverage of contraception, she appears and is even brought to Capitol Hill to testify. This morning, in an interview with Matt Lauer on the Today show, it was revealed that she is 30 years old, NOT the 23 that had been reported all along.
In other words, folks, you are being played. She has been an activist all along and the Dems were just waiting for the appropriate time to play her.

Alexei Navalny, the rising star of Russia's opposition, on his political strategy and why the latest czar is 'trapped' by power.

Posted by BH 7:49 am 3-3

Alexei Navalny, the rising star of Russia's opposition, on his political strategy and why the latest czar is 'trapped' by power.

The outcome is a foregone conclusion. Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, Russia's paramount ruler since 2000, will reclaim his old job as president in Sunday's elections. The drama comes in the aftermath.
Anticorruption blogger and activist Alexei Navalny will be in the middle of it—as he has been over the past three months of Russia's unexpected political awakening. By the tens of thousands, Russians shed their fear and apathy to protest December's fraud-ridden parliamentary elections and Mr. Putin's hold on power. From a crowded stage of opposition figures, Mr. Navalny has emerged as the charismatic and fresh face of the movement.
The next phase will test him and the opposition. The series of large demonstrations after December exposed the shallowness of support for Mr. Putin in the large cities and public frustration with the political stagnation and lack of accountability in Russia. Yet the rallies forced no notable government concessions. Though weakened, Mr. Putin gets a new term and possibly energy to reverse his slide or to crack down.
Among the opposition, Mr. Navalny has carved out the harder line. He says it's time to "escalate" with regular protests, a permanent encampment in downtown Moscow, and maybe calls for nationwide strikes. "We need a real tent city in the heart of Moscow," he says. The opposition wants political reforms, including the return of direct elections for governors and easing rules on political parties, and elections for a new Duma next year and for president in 2014.
"All our protests were very kind of friendly," Mr. Navalny says. "I'm not going to appeal to violence or aggression—of course not. But the mood of the protests should be more and more political. It's not just about the fun, hipster stuff. It has to be a kind of real political protest. The Kremlin should understand these tens of thousands of people will never leave the streets. We will never consider Putin as a president with legitimacy."
As the authorities here know, protests and the occupation of public spaces were used in Ukraine's Orange Revolution, and last year's uprisings in Egypt and Tunisia to depose authoritarian rulers. Suggesting the depth of official paranoia, Moscow police earlier this week rounded up a few activists in a car who turned up in the city center to pass out free tents, keeping them in jail overnight.
Escalation carries risks for the opposition. Confrontation with police and the Kremlin's Nashi youth shock troops may scare away middle-class Muscovites who pinned white ribbons to their coats and joined in the winter's protests.
Some would prefer to start small to revive Russia's experiment with democracy, running candidates in local elections and building new parties. Some want compromises with the authorities, who might look to co-opt parts of the movement. Not Mr. Navalny, who says any change will be "driven by 1% of the population, the politically active part, which lives in the capital," and sees no other option to force the Kremlin's hand.
Zina Saunders
To start it off, the anti-Putin coalition wanted to hold a Monday evening rally on Lubyanka, down the street from Red Square. As we talk on Thursday night, an aide enters to tell Mr. Navalny that the city and his opposition colleagues have agreed instead to use Pushkin Square. He makes a sour face and bites his tongue. Mr. Navalny wanted it in the center of town, but to keep everyone happy he won't criticize the decision.
The Kremlin acts as if it fears Mr. Navalny most of all the dissident figures. Websites and television stations friendly to the regime have tried to smear him as a CIA operative or Hitler-like nationalist. His emails were hacked into and published. He is the sole opposition leader still barred from state-controlled television.
"I'm on the very blackest part of the black list," says Mr. Navalny. When television host and Putin family friend Ksenia Sobchak invited him on her popular show on Russian MTV, it was yanked off the air—everyone presumes on government orders. "Sometimes it seems to me that there is a small crazy guy in the Kremlin who works for me," Mr. Navalny jokes. "Relatively few people watch such shows. But because they banned it, there are millions of Russians now who wonder, 'Who is he? Why do they fear him so much?'"
Mr. Navalny, who is 35 years old, leads no party. He oversees a staff of 11 and works from an office of four rooms and barren walls off the Moscow ring road. A couple of young men sit behind laptops and work on his latest civic Internet initiative to register election monitors for Sunday's vote. The Kremlin barred credible challengers and put Mr. Putin up against several stalking horses.  (SOUNDS LIKE OBAMA) Yet election day won't come without suspense. Thousands of people in big cities are going to fan out to prevent and document the fraud everyone expects will be needed to assure Mr. Putin his first-round victory.
Russia last saw this level of civic engagement in the late glasnost years of the Soviet Union. Many of the people behind the current protests have no memory of it. Until recently, opposition politics was the province of marginal activists and Moscow intellectuals beaten down by 12 years of Mr. Putin's "sovereign democracy."
Yet in a matter of weeks, politics went mainstream, even cool. How much so is shown by the presence of Ms. Sobchak, a 30-year-old who runs her own fashion line, at the rallies: The so-called "Paris Hilton of Moscow" is the daughter of the former St. Petersburg mayor, Anatoly Sobchak, who was Mr. Putin's mentor. "It's a very positive sign when all this establishment—the TV people, the writers—who enjoyed life in the Putin years are now escaping it," says Mr. Navalny. "They're deserters."
The Internet virtually created the Navalny phenomenon. Trained as a lawyer, he got into politics through the liberal Yabloko (or Apple) party. He missed out on the politics of the 1990s, a toxic decade of economic chaos. In contrast with older, less popular opposition figures like Boris Nemtsov or Mikhail Kasyanov who served in government, he brings no baggage from that time.
Mr. Navalny dabbled with youth and nationalist groups in the 2000s. Nothing took off. He then found a calling and voice as an anticorruption activist. He bought small stakes in large companies and tried to invoke shareholder rights to open their books. Another effort involves looking into government procurement contracts to find fraud. In Russia, poking into corruption is a serious health risk.
Mr. Navalny publicized his findings on his LiveJournal blog, which has become one of the most popular blogs in Russia. His writing style in posts and tweets is personal, emotional and direct. He can turn a phrase, and stuck the memorable "party of crooks and thieves" label on the ruling United Russia Party. He also brings a common touch, rare among the Moscow liberal crowd, to his public speaking.
Internet entrepreneur Anton Nossik says the Web offered "a platform for samizdat." It freed Mr. Navalny in another sense, providing an easy way to raise money directly and quickly online. Other NGOs have since adopted his funding model.
Three days before the elections, Mr. Navalny fields calls at his office. Wearing blue jeans and a blue shirt, he has an easy charm about him in his confident English. He is saltier in Russian. Mr. Navalny spent a semester at Yale as a "world fellow" in 2010, which Kremlin propagandists say was part of an American "program to initiate an 'orange coup' in Russia."
It would be inaccurate to say that Mr. Navalny leads the movement, which includes many different faces from the worlds of media, art, business and politics. There are also concerns voiced about his "nationalist tendencies." He clashed with opposition leaders to let ultra-nationalist speakers on stage at the rallies. He has called for a visa requirement for people from Central Asia and said that ethnic Russians are mistreated in neighboring ex-Soviet republics.
Yet for now, the nationalism seems to be worn lightly, and if anything is a political asset. "The left liberals thought it was dangerous to talk about such things—that it will bring problems because it will touch the dark side of the Russian soul, and all that sort of stuff, but it's totally bull—," he says. "People in their kitchens discuss such problems. That's why I am supported more widely [than they are] because I discuss these problems."
Others question his tactical judgment. He provoked the police into arresting him after the first large rally in December. In jail for 15 days, he missed an opportunity to submit an application to run for president. He says it was pointless; the Kremlin would have disallowed his candidacy.
The Kremlin faces its own tough choices. Barring an Egypt-style overthrow, any transition from Mr. Putin to someone new may have to include security guarantees for him and his family. Previous leader Boris Yeltsin negotiated such an arrangement with Mr. Putin. But the former KGB colonel could also "escalate," to use Mr. Navalny's word, the confrontation with the opposition.
Against Mr. Navalny's office wall sits a large framed photograph of two men smiling and shaking hands: Libya's late Moammar Gadhafi and Vladimir Putin. It is a gift from a real-estate mogul who relies on the Kremlin for his good fortune but has turned against Mr. Putin. "The guy told me, 'the worst enemy is the former friend,'" says Mr. Navalny.
'Putin did a lot of good stuff from 1999 until 2003," he says, referring to Mr. Putin's early years, when the economy recovered and some reforms were introduced. But it's the high price of oil that has kept the economy going and notably enriched a clique of Putin friends from St. Petersburg. "People don't believe in positive changes anymore. It's 20 years that he wants to keep absolute power. It's obvious now that his system of power is based on corruption, and people around him depend only on money and corruption."
As his popularity has slid, Mr. Putin's rhetoric has hardened. Earlier this week, he said the opposition would fake evidence of electoral fraud to embarrass him—maybe even kill one of their leaders. Mr. Putin also was badly rattled by the Arab uprising, most of all Gadhafi's fall and murder.
Pointing to the dead Libyan leader in the photograph, Mr. Navalny says, "The history of this guy drives [Putin] crazy. He thinks the only way for him to be alive and healthy and rich is to be president. It's a big problem for us. This guy is trapped."

The website WikiLeaks has continued releasing for a fourth day what it says will eventually be 5 million e-mails sent between July 2004 and late December 2011 by the private intelligence company Stratfor.
In an email dated November 7, 2008, a Stratfor staff member claims that Democrats made a “six-figure donation” to Rev. Jesse [Jackson], according to an unidentified source. This was allegedly done to “keep his yap shut after his diatribe about the Jews and Israel.”
In 2008 at an international relations conference in France, “Jackson was quoted as saying that ‘Zionists who have controlled American policy for decades’ would lose much of their influence should Senator Obama be elected president.”
The Obama presidential campaign responded by stating “Rev. Jesse Jackson Sr. is not an adviser to the Obama campaign and is therefore in no position to interpret or share Barack Obama’s views on Israel and foreign policy…” and also mentioned Obama’s “unshakeable commitment to Israel’s security.”
Wikileaks claims that Osama bin Laden’s body was transferred to Dover, Delaware on a CIA plane.  An email dated May 2, 2011 states the body will then be moved “…to the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology in Bethesda.” Two US Air Force Airlift Wings are based at Dover Air Force Base in Dover, Delaware. In another email dated May 2, 2011 a Stratfor staff member expresses doubt that Bin Laden’s corpse was buried at sea and mentions, “We would want to photograph, DNA, fingerprint, etc. His body is a crime scene and I don’t see the FBI nor DOJ letting that happen.”
In an email dated June 17, 2010, Stratfor CEO George Friedman wrote the following after the Gaza flotilla incident, “The Turks have taken a tremendous beating and the Israelis have come out in remarkably good position.”
Friedman also wrote: “…the Israeli-Turkish intelligence sharing agreement required that the Turks screen the passengers on the ships. This screening took place but the Israelis have now shown the Turks and others intelligence that the Turks either (1) failed to detect the intentions of a group of people in the flotilla or their backgrounds) (2) detected it and failed to tell either Israel or the United States or (3) intentionally deceived Israel.”
According to Friedman, the Turkish military lost some of its capabilities to deal with the PKK [Kurdish militant group] after Israel withdrew its trainers on UAVs [unmanned aerial vehicles, also known as drones].
Friedman claimed, “The Israelis are offering to end the Gaza blockade precisely because they know the Egyptians will do the heavy lifting for them on Hamas.”
He also made the following statement: “The Israelis have waged a superb propaganda campaign focusing on the attack on them and in Europe, a series of articles charging critics of Israel with anti-semitism, written by significant figures in Europe, has stemmed the hemorrhage. Anti-Muslim and anti-Turkish feeling in Europe is deeper than anti-Israeli feeling among the public. Intellectuals and others of course remain anti-Israeli, but they don’t shape political life and the political leaders are not prepared to go too far with a pro-Turkish, pro-Arab policy.”
In the same email chain, a Stratfor staff member, Emre Dogru, said “…Israel’s decision to pull UAV instructors is not huge” and mentioned that Turkey has six UAVs “and will get remaining four.” Emre Dogru added that if Israel starts to lobby the US to stop real time intelligence sharing with Turkey “that would be the nightmare of Erdogan.”
In the same email chain, a source claims that Israeli UAVs were transferred to the “air base in Batman (a southeastern province of Turkey).” These UAVs were then reportedly used to provide real-time intelligence to the Turkish army during an offensive in to northern Iraq. The source has a reliability rating of B and a credibility rating of 2, the second highest Stratfor rankings. This email also mentions that “Turkey doesn’t need Israeli assistance to fly them [UAVs] …but of course, Turks may need Israeli help to fix if there is a technical problem in UAVs.”
A Stratfor staff member states that “Greek Cyprus FM sought political support in Israel” in a separate email dated September 16, 2011. The email mentions the energy dispute between Cyprus and Turkey. The Stratfor staff member is skeptical “that Israel would get involved in this controversy for Greek Cyprus while it is having its a) own offshore reserves dispute with Lebanon b) troubles with Turkey.” Turkey is also observed to have “military options” in the Eastern Mediterranean which it could use against Israel or even Cyprus.

COL Van Thomas Barfoot, Medal Of Honor Winner Dies at 92

Col. Barfoot

Published: March 03, 2012
Van Thomas Barfoot, a retired Army colonel and World War II Medal of Honor recipient who gained national attention in his fight to keep the U.S. flag flying in his front yard, died Friday in a Henrico County hospital.
A private service will be held for the 92-year-old Henrico resident, who formerly owned a farm in Amelia.
In 2009, Col. Barfoot made headlines after he erected a 21-foot flagpole at his Sussex Square residence without the permission of his homeowners association. The association, which allowed flags to be flown on angled poles attached to houses, ordered it removed and threatened legal action when he refused.
The ensuing furor drew the support of two senators, a former Virginia governor, other leaders and veterans before the association backed down.
"Col. Barfoot was a remarkable man who demonstrated tremendous bravery in military service to his country during three wars," said Sen. Mark R. Warner, D-Va.
"The actions that earned Col. Barfoot the Medal of Honor, the Silver Star and the Bronze Star still have the power to inspire. We all saw a bit of that same determination and grit when Col. Barfoot fought his neighbors over that flagpole. Our nation and our state has lost a remarkable man, and my thoughts tonight are with his family and friends."
The Edinburg, Miss., native enlisted in the Army in 1940. By late 1941, he was a sergeant serving in Quantico. When his unit was deactivated in 1943, he shipped to Europe as part of the 157th Infantry Regiment, 45th Infantry Division.
Col. Barfoot earned the Bronze Star for valor for his part in the Allied invasion of Sicily in July 1943. He earned the Silver Star for his role in the invasion of mainland Italy in December 1943.
He was a 24-year-old technical sergeant when his unit, which landed at Anzio in late January 1944, reached Carano in May. He led patrols that familiarized him with the mined area in front of the German positions.
During an action that left his squad isolated and communications cut off, he advanced alone on May 23 through the minefield, crawling to a German machine gun nest, which he destroyed with a hand grenade. He took out another machine gun nest with his machine gun and received the surrender of a third German machine gun crew.
Later that day, he borrowed a bazooka and "took up an exposed position directly in front of three advancing Mark VI tanks," his Medal of Honor citation says. "From a distance of 75 yards his first shot destroyed the track of the leading tank, effectively disabling it, while the other two changed direction toward the flank.
"He continued onward into enemy terrain and destroyed a recently abandoned German fieldpiece with a demolition charge placed in the breech.
"While returning to his platoon position, Sgt. Barfoot, though greatly fatigued by his Herculean efforts, assisted two of his seriously wounded men 1,700 yards to a position of safety."
During his efforts, he had killed eight and captured 17 German soldiers.
"Sgt. Barfoot's extraordinary heroism, demonstration of magnificent valor, and aggressive determination in the face of pointblank fire," the citation said, "are a perpetual inspiration to his fellow soldiers."
He later served in the Korean War and in Vietnam, where he served as deputy chief of Army aviation and earned 11 Air Medals in less than two years. He also received the Purple Heart with two clusters. He retired as a colonel and senior Army adviser to the Virginia Army National Guard in 1974.
The Sitter-Barfoot Veterans Health Care Center at McGuire Veterans Affairs Medical Center was named in his honor, and he was active there.
"He was a very selfless man, a fiercely independent man," said his daughter, Margaret Nicholls of Henrico. Although the military was a large part of his life, "that wasn't him," she said. "He was all about family and faith and honor. He believed in serving in the community. He was always out in the community."
In a 1999 Times-Dispatch interview, he said, "I like to tell about life without war stories. I've always had something more important in my life than war and the military." He explained that his close-knit, churchgoing Christian family was his anchor.
"That's the basis of my life, as a commander and a civilian."
He recalled reading his Bible before and praying through the action that earned him the Medal of Honor.
"I always say, 'They held my hand.' That is, God, my mother and my wife. And anything I accomplished, it was based on Christian love."
Col. Barfoot, who changed his middle name from Thurman to Thomas, married Norma Louise Davis Barfootin 1945. She died in 1992.
Surviving in addition to his daughter are three sons, Van T. Barfoot Jr. of Bremerton, Wash., James Barfoot of Lake Tapps, Wash., and Odell Barfoot of Huntsville, Texas; a sister, Freddie Hall of Jackson, Miss.; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

They’re baaaaaaack. Barack Obama’s election-year goon squad kicked into high gear this week by kicking the president’s fiercest opponents in the teeth and targeting their pocketbooks.

Returning to bully business as usual, the Obama campaign launched a brazen salvo against two prominent conservative critics and their legions of private citizen donors.

In a scathing e-mail, Obama campaign manager Jim Messina name-checked wealthy free-market philanthropists Charles and David Koch — along with a growing movement of grassroots conservatives who’ve freely and legally given money to the Koch-founded nonprofit Americans for Prosperity and its sister foundation.

As a speaker at several AFP events over the past three years, I’ve met thousands of hardworking Americans who support its work at the local, state and federal levels.

The Koches’ sins are to 1) follow tax law and protect the identities of donors to their charitable organizations, and 2) exercise their free speech by funding advocacy ads informing the public about the Obama administration’s jobs-destruction toll and failed green energy “investments.” (Their most recent TV spot zeroed in on the taxpayer-funded Solyndra bankruptcy.)

‘‘When you attempt to drown out [Americans’] voices through unlimited, secret contributions to pursue a special-interest agenda that conflicts with what’s best for our nation, you must expect some scrutiny of your actions,” Messina railed.

The threat of scrutiny was backed by Obama himself: His campaign Twitter account directed 12 million-plus followers this week to “add your name to demand that the Koch brothers make their donors public.”

But former top Obama officials run a so-called super PAC (Priorities USA) that also maintains nonprofit status and subsidizes advocacy ads while protecting its donor base. The White House, of course, is mum on the unlimited, secret contributions that Obama is now encouraging wealthy liberals and lobbyists to make in pursuit of his own special-interest agenda — i.e., re-election.
The president’s lips are also sealed when it comes to applying his disclosure standards to the shadowy, George Soros-backed Center for American Progress, which has supplied the Obama administration with countless top policy staffers. CAP founder John Podesta was Obama’s transition chief, overseeing the backroom process of rewarding friends and allies with plum positions.
CAP flacks shrugged off conflict-of-interest questions: “We respect the privacy of supporters who have chosen not to make their donations public,” CAP spokeswoman Jennifer Palmieri said.
As for respecting the privacy rights of Obama’s foes? Not so much.
This disclosure charade comes just as numerous Tea Party groups are reporting that the Internal Revenue Service has targeted them for audits. According to Colleen Owens of the Richmond (Va.) Tea Party, several fiscal-conservative activist groups in Virginia, Hawaii, Ohio and Texas have received a spate of IRS letters. The missives demand extensive requests to identity volunteers, board members and . . . donors.
This is Omama’s M.O.: His bully brigade did the same to the US Chamber of Commerce and its donors during the 2010 midterms as payback for the organization’s ads opposing the federal health-care takeover.

And in 2008, Obama’s allies at a Soros-tied outfit sent out “warning” letters to 10,000 top GOP givers “hoping to create a chilling effect that will dry up contributions.” Witch-hunt leader Tom Matzzie said the letter was just the first step, “alerting donors who might be considering giving to right-wing groups to a variety of potential dangers, including legal trouble, public exposure and watchdog groups digging through their lives.”

Just as with the Obama super PAC, Matzzie’s group “Accountable America” was a 501(c)(4) nonprofit entity that shielded the identity of its donors.
It is no small exaggeration to conclude that Team Obama’s dead aim is to chill conservative speech and criminalize conservative dissent.
