Obama's Crusade Against Leakers Is Finally Coming Back to Bite Him

The targeting of retired Gen. James Cartwright forces the White House into an awkward position.

The Obama administration has named Gen. James Cartwright, the former vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, as a key suspect in an investigation into who leaked details of Stuxnet to the media.
According to sources for NBC News and ABC News, Cartwright has been served a "target letter" indicating that he'll be investigated, and possibly charged. Cartwright was revealed by The New York Times as a major figure in the development and fielding of the Stuxnet computer virus, which sabotaged Iran's nuclear-enrichment facilities in 2010.
Cartwright could be indicted under the Espionage Act, putting him in the same predicament as Edward Snowden and Bradley Manning. If so, he'd be Obama's ninth such target—and among the highest-ranking officials ever to be charged in the law's 96-year history.
But Obama may have unwittingly put himself in a compromising position by going after Cartwright. The retired general has on his side the White House's former top legal adviser, Greg Craig. Craig served in both the Clinton and Obama administrations before being forced out in 2009, in part over his unsuccessful attempt to close the Guantanamo Bay detention camp.
It'll likely mean huge headaches for Obama if he chooses to battle Craig, who represented Clinton during his impeachment trial and John Hinckley Jr., who allegedly carried out the Ronald Reagan assassination attempt. Both cases led to acquittals.
As daunting a challenge as it might be to try Cartwright, it could be even worse for Obama if he ultimately decides not to. Anything short of an indictment would open the president up to accusations that he only pursues leaks when it involves ordinary federal employees and not distinguished public servants.
The appearance of a double standard for espionage charges would likely only increase the pressure on Obama, who's been criticized for invoking the Espionage Act more often than any other president.
It seems that if there's one lesson Obama is learning in his second term, it's that old leaks die hard.

House Passes Amendment to Restrict DHS Ammunition Purchases – Huge Victory For Peace, Likely Because of Activism

The House of Representatives passed an amendment recently, restricting the Department of Homeland Security from stockpiling ammo, without providing “valid reason”, and having the reasons approved by Congress. After the DHS ordered over a billion hollow point bullets, there was a massive uproar from the independent media and conscious people and activists everywhere, people concerned about a military dictatorship, martial law, or a similar scenario. This is a huge victory for activists, and goes to show that activism absolutely is working, and CAN prevent a scenario like a military dictatorship in an economic collapse.

The house approved an amendment to bill H.P. 2217, the DHS appropriations act of 2014, by a 234-192 vote. Representative Mark Meadows said “Earlier this year, we learned that DHS solicited bids for 1.1 billion rounds of ammunition. That is more than 10 times the amount that the department purchased in the fiscal year 2012.” An interesting point to make about this, is that the political dialogue paints the DHS, rightfully, as a potentially dangerous group.
These restrictions do not come from people who believe the DHS is there to protect anyone except the government, so that’s a significant point for anyone who still believes this government agency is beneficial. Apparently, the members of the House of Representatives and some people in government must do SOMETHING to retain any credibility, give some reason for the citizens to allow this out of control system to exist.
This is a huge victory for activists, and those who spread awareness about this issue should feel accomplished. Well done you activists and conscious people out there, fighting for liberty. The effects of the Truth/Liberty Movement just so far, have been enormous, geopolitical, global in influence, and widespread, viral, and unstoppable, like no other movement in history. As depicted on a visualization of US drone strikes in Pakistan from 2004-2013, the drone strikes have abruptly stopped for an unknown reason, since January 2013.
Is activism and the explosion of independent media to thank for this?
With the NSA scandals, massive public awareness of the coercive nature of government at an all time high, the general scandalous nature of government becoming more and more visible, and perhaps most importantly, the explosive renaissance of independent news and media, holding government accountable, restoring liberty, keeping peace, and all of the things humanity has always dreamed of, are more possible and realistic then ever. Activists, Truthers, real journalists like Glenn Greenwald, groups like The Houston Free Thinkers, well done.
The work of independent journalists and activists is enormously influential, especially now, and it can only get better from here it seems. Some Brazilian people I spoke with even said that the American/UK Liberty Movement was a huge inspiration for a lot of people protesting in Brazil recently. Our work is visibly having a positive effect, on people on countries all over the world, inspiring individuals to stand up, and peacefully defend the liberties and natural rights we human beings deserve.

DOJ Defunds Youth Programs that Reference God

The Department of Justice has summarily removed federal funding from two Louisiana youth programs because a local official refused to sign a pledge stating he would require the programs to ban mentions of God.

Julian Whittington, the sheriff of Bossier Parish, LA, told Fox News that Obama's Justice Office of Civil Rights de-funded the Young Marines chapter and another youth program over mentions of religion. In the case of the Young Marine program, chartered in 1965, the funding was cut off because the group features an oath that mentions "God." In the other case, it was because a program for at-risk youth featured a voluntary, student-led prayer session as one of its activities.
Sheriff Whittington says that the DOJ withdrew a combined $30,000 from the programs because the groups refused to remove God from their activities. The sheriff said this was evidence of the government's "aggression and infringement of our religious freedoms."
Whittington told Fox, "We were informed that these are unacceptable, inherently religious activities and the Department of Justice would not be able to fund the programs if it continued. They wanted a letter from me stating that I would no longer have voluntary prayer and I would also have to remove ‘God’ from the Young Marine’s oath."
The oath from the Young Marine organization reads:
From this day forward, I sincerely promise, I will set an example for all other youth to follow and I shall never do anything that would bring disgrace or dishonor upon God, my Country and its flag, my parents, myself or the Young Marines. These I will honor and respect in a manner that will reflect credit upon them and myself. Semper Fidelis
Both the U.S. Army enlistment oath and its commissioning oath end with "so help me God."
As to the at-risk youth program, Whittington said,"We're not promoting any specific religion, this is just voluntary prayer, mention of God, how offensive and bad can that be?"
In response to the DOJ’s message insisting that he sign the anti-God pledge, Sheriff Whittington sent a letter of his own to LA Governor Bobby Jindal.
"As a Christian, Sheriff and American citizen, I am writing to express my frustration and concern over the persistent aggression and infringement of our religious freedoms which have been imposed upon the law enforcement grant programs, specifically related to the Louisiana Commission on Law Enforcement,” wrote the Sheriff.
In cutting off the funding, the DOJ claimed it was a violation of Church and State rules for the government to fund any group that mentions God.
Fox's Todd Starnes says that, "Both youth programs have been hailed as a successful way to reach at-risk young people. Since 2002 more than 1,000 young people have graduated from the program, directed by a Bossier Parish deputy who is a former U.S. Marine."
Like Sheriff Whittington, Rep. John Fleming (R-LA) was troubled by the DOJ's actions.
"There is a very wide effort coming out of the administration that seeks to stamp out freedom of expressions – particularly religion and especially freedom of Christian expression," Fleming said. "They are willing to throw the youth overboard and remove the funding just in the name of making this an atheist, agnostic, secular organization."
"They (DOJ) don’t want anything to have any sort of religious support – even down to prayer," Fleming said. "It’s sad and it’s inconsistent with the intentions of the framers of the Constitution."
Sheriff Whittington is not taking this lying down. "When something is not right and you know it’s not right and you keep bowing down, nothing is ever going to change," he said

Concealed Gun Carry Comes to CommieTown.....Watch Murders, Crime Drop

FILE - In this April 16, 2013 file photo, members of the Community Renewal Society from Chicago participate in a "die-in" protest to stop gun violence and support legislation to stop illegal gun trafficking and stronger laws for gun registration, in front of Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn's office at the Illinois State Capitol in Springfield. As Quinn mulls whether to sign off on eliminating the nation’s last ban on public possession of guns, the question in Chicago is whether it will matter in the crime-weary city where a spiking murder rate drew national attention last year. CHICAGO (AP) — This city, where violent street gangs shoot it out dozens of times a week despite some of the nation's toughest restrictions on guns, now faces a new challenge: Well-meaning citizens with the legal right to hit the streets with loaded firearms, whenever they want.
As Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn mulls whether to sign off on eliminating the country's last concealed carry ban, the question in Chicago is whether it will matter in the crime-weary city. Will a place that long had one of the tightest bans on handguns be more at risk? Or will it be safer with a law that can only add to the number of guns already on the street?
Neighborhood leaders, anti-crime activists and police officials worry about additional mayhem in Chicago. But other residents, including some who live in Chicago's more violent areas, believe more guns will allow them to defend themselves better.
"We just had a weekend where something like 48 people were shot, seven died," said Otis McDonald, 79, one of the plaintiffs in the lawsuit that ended with the U.S. Supreme Court tossing out Chicago's strict gun ban three years ago. "Now law abiding citizens like myself ... can carry them when they want to and not carry them when they don't want to, and the people out there who will do us harm won't know when we got them and when we don't."
At City Hall, where Chicago's anti-gun campaign has centered for years, the reaction to concealed carry legislation has been relatively quiet. The reasons seem to boil down to this: The city can do little about stopping the law because a federal appeals court ordered Illinois to end its public possession ban by this summer.
"We would prefer to have the (gun) bans we've always enacted... (but) it's the best we could do based upon the mandate we have," said Alderman Patrick O'Connor.
In this Feb. 26, 2013 file photo, Chicago Police Superintendent …The bill sitting on Quinn's desk is a hard-fought compromise between conservative downstate lawmakers who opposed most gun restrictions and anti-gun lawmakers from Chicago and other urban areas. The legislation requires state police to issue a concealed-carry permit to any gun owner with a state-issued Firearm Owners Identification card, and who passes a background check, pays a $150 fee and undergoes 16 hours of training.
It's not as stringent as concealed carry laws in California, New York and a handful of others states, which give law enforcement authorities more power to deny permits. But it's more restrictive than earlier proposals by gun rights advocates, including one that would have superseded all local gun restrictions. For example, it won't wipe out Chicago and Cook County's ban on assault weapons.

The Egyptian People’s Message For America: “Obama Supports Terrorism”

I am not sure when the people of Egypt became more worldly than the people here in America but it would seem they have it figured out. Betsy Hiel tweeted a picture of a banner that has been hoisted in Tahrir Square that reads “Obama Supports Terrorism” in both English and Arabic. The banner has been placed in preparation for Sunday’s scheduled protests against Mohamed Morsi and The Muslim Brotherhood.

In a related story this week, an Egyptian politician claims that our Ambassador to Egypt is part of a Muslim Brotherhood “sleeper cell.” Raymond Ibrahim reports for Jihadwatch:
More information concerning the blatantly pro-Brotherhood position of the United States continues to emerge. Earlier, U.S. ambassador to Egypt Anne Patterson exposed the Obama administration’s allegiance when she urged Egyptians—including the beleaguered Christian Copts—not to protest against the Muslim Brotherhood as planned for June 30.
Now, in a recent live interview on Tahrir TV, former Egyptian Member of Parliament, Mustafa Bakari, exposed the relationship between Patterson and Khairat al-Shater, the deputy leader of the Muslim Brotherhood. Among other things, he pointed out how she recently visited him at his private residence—as opposed to the party’s headquarters—where she likely discussed with him internal matters concerning Egypt, including how “we [the U.S.] will stand with you [regarding the June 30 protests],” adding that she sees and treats him as the “true ruler of the nation.”
Due to Patterson’s ongoing and very open relationship with the Muslim Brotherhood, Bakari concluded that “in fact, in my opinion, she is a member of the sleeper cells of the Brotherhood, likely recruited by Essam al-Erian or Muhammad al-Baltagi.”
A couple of days ago news broke that Mohamed Morsi, president of Egypt, has been tied to Benghazi by some leaked intelligence documents. There is growing evidence that Benghazi was likely a failed prisoner exchange to trade Ambassador Stevens for The Blind Sheik.
Does Obama support terrorists? You tell me. How is it that Anti-Muslim Brotherhood/Anti-Morsi protesters in Egypt are smarter than 80% of the people in this country?
It’s because Obama is not the only person in America who supports terrorism. You need to look very hard at media sources and 535 elected officials. With all of the mountains of evidence, none of them are even asking about Morsi’s ties to Benghazi. They save that sort of thing for guys like me and then they call me a conspiracy theorist. Yet I guarantee you that many truth-seeking bloggers, like myself, have uncovered more evidence than any of those tough as nails Representatives who dance in circles like nancies begging whoever is on the stand to answer a simple question.
While they waste their time interrogating General Carter Ham, there are a lot of us out here who are looking for answers from the Arab world. You will not get real truth from anyone in our top levels of government. They cannot be trusted.
I feel the same way about the media. With the exception of a few right-wing sources (but certainly not all of them) there is very little reporting about who might have actually been responsible for the murder of four Americans in Benghazi. They are proving more so every day that we live with a state controlled media.
If you are open-minded enough to entertain my claims then you can read:
The Butcher of Benghazi… Leaked Libyan Intelligence Documents Implicate Morsi
The article is full of links to past articles and it details the case that has been built tying your President and Hillary Clinton to a terrorist named Mohamed Morsi who just happens to be the President of Egypt.
…Or you can go back to your Cheetos too. You can always wait to learn about the terrorist ties. Habib may show up at your door someday and offer you a personal lesson.
Wake up America.
