Alan Caruba, Contributing Author: On Thanksgiving 2013, it may have seemed that the nation has little to be thankful for, but if you pull back from the headlines and other news, it is clear that Obama’s presidency is seriously damaged and will remain so until and after he is gone. That’s worth celebrating.

I must confess I am luxuriating in the knowledge of Obama’s present misery. I am enjoying it as someone who predicted he would fail — and fail spectacularly — and yet I know, despite his present unhappiness, he has no idea why it is happening.

The German word for taking pleasure in another’s failure or ill fortune is “schadenfreude.” Since this is generally regarded as unseemly, one usually keeps it to himself, but there is no need for that in Obama’s case. A small legion of conservative pundits has been warning about the consequences of Obamacare since Obama signed the Affordable Care Act into law in 2010.

The bill is so badly flawed that, even with three years to prepare for its rollout, the administration made a mess of that. Those who know more about it than I predict that it will simply implode for lack of people — mostly the young and healthy — who will not participate in the exchanges. The horror stories will begin to mount as we learn of those who lost their insurance coverage, were unable to pay huge, increased premiums, and die as a result.

In October, Daniel Henniger, a columnist for The Wall Street Journal, described it this way: “Let us try to understand what is happening now with the Obama presidency. On display to everyone watching this week is not merely the failure of a federal website or a software program or Ms. Sebelius’s management skills. This is the failure of the very idea of progressive government. Not liberal government. Progressive government.”

That’s an important difference. Henniger is talking about communism because “progressive” is the term that has been adopted to disguise communism. In the 1950s, when I was growing up, communism was called communism because people knew the Soviet Union was communist and that it was the enemy, It is still the enemy, most particularly of freedom and, beyond that, of free market capitalism that facilitates better lives for those who live in nations that exercise it.

The problem for America has been the way it has moved to the left since the dawn of the last century, adopting all manner of “entitlement” programs, but both Social Security and Medicare will be insolvent soon unless they are reformed to reflect the changing demographics of a growing, aging population. The move to the left increased the size and scope of the federal government in ways the Founders would never have imagined or wanted.

Our present miseries are rooted in the failure of communism aka progressive government. In perfect synch with the failure of his “signature” legislation is its living embodiment, the failed presidency of Barack Obama. He is an example of those people who, despite their limited skills, continue to be hired for jobs higher up on the ladder until their failures are catastrophic.

This is now commonly called “the Peter Principle”, formulated by Laurence J. Peter and Raymond Hull in a 1969 book of the same name. They postulated that the members of an organization where promotion is based on achievement, success, and merit will eventually be promoted to positions beyond their abilities; what they identified as “their level of incompetence.”

It’s worth noting that Obama’s college records have been sealed, so we only know that he attended Occidental College from the fall of 1979 through the spring of 1981. He then transferred to Columbia University. He graduated in 1983, spent about a year in Chicago as a “community organizer” before attending Harvard Law School. There is no need to examine his “career” after that except to note that he surrounded himself with radical friends and made his way up the Chicago political ladder until becoming a junior Senator from Illinois, He served from

January 2005 until he was elected President in 2008. None of this demonstrates much preparation to be President and none of this suggests a level of competence for the job.

In 2012, a Washington Times editorial noted that “Since Mr. Obama took office, the opinion of the United States generally has declined in every country surveyed by the Pew Global Attitudes Project, according to a report released in June.” Especially in Middle Eastern nations, his favorability ratings were below what they were when he took office. The Times concluded that “There’s a reason Mr. Obama has not been a strong leader internationally. He never set out to be one because he never believed in the exceptional mission of the United States…He would rather bow to foreign leaders than stand up for America.”

In sum, Obama has displayed a talent for campaigning for office, but has proven to lack all the attributes necessary to act effectively in office. This wouldn’t be a problem if he had remained an obscure junior Senator from Illinois, but has failed to solve the problems that come with any presidency.

Fouad Adjami, a senior fellow at Stanford’s Hoover Institution, recently noted that “Valerie Jarrett, the president’s most trusted, probably most powerful, aide, once said in admiration that Mr. Obama has been bored his whole life. The implication was that he is above things, a man alone, and anointed. Perhaps this moment—a presidency coming apart, the incompetent social engineering of an entire healthcare system—will now claim Mr. Obama’s attention.”

It has taken notice of the debacle. He began by lying about it and has progressed to lying about his lies. With three years to go, we are witnessing and being victimized by the election of a man who, in the parlance of Washington, D.C., has been “failing up” his whole life. He is the ultimate example of an “empty suit.”

Democrats up for election and re-election in 2014 will not want to be seen on the same stage with Obama. Those in Congress are already voting for any kind of band-aide to “fix” Obamacare, but no one is fooled by that. It can’t be fixed. It can only be repealed.

I am surprised that it took this long for the voters to realize the mistake they made, but America has a Constitution that enables them to overcome such errors and the economy is robust enough to resist much of the damage he has inflicted on it. We’ve had presidents in the past that were not up to the job. They were replaced. The nation moved on. It will do so again.

Dear Friend,
In recent weeks we have all heard examples on the evening news or from our family and friends about the dysfunctional website. The website is not user-friendly and in many cases just simply does not work. While the ObamaCare website is a problem, we must remember that the problems with government mandated healthcare go much further than technical glitches. Across our country and right here in Missouri, people are losing their current insurance and are seeing their monthly premiums skyrocket. The broken ObamaCare system is having a real impact on families and individuals, businesses and even local school districts.
In recent weeks, my offices in Missouri and Washington have been flooded with families and individuals who are losing their current health insurance or who are seeing their monthly premiums increase dramatically. Chris from Salem contacted me through Facebook to say that his insurance has been cancelled. Chris and his family were given the option to buy a new plan through the same insurance company but their new plan comes with much higher deductibles and a much higher monthly premium. The broken ObamaCare system is forcing Chris and his family to make tough financial decisions.
Ceramo in Jackson is one of the largest American-owned distributors of clay pottery in the country. It's a family business that started in 1945 and employs around 100 people. Because of ObamaCare, Ceramo's insurance rates increased by 43% when the plans came up for renewal. After switching insurance providers to a company that would still raise rates by 37%, Ceramo has now received notice explaining that their coverage will be cancelled next August because it does not cover certain benefits required under President Obama's healthcare law. Ceramo and its 50 employees are suffering because ObamaCare is broken.
For many communities in our Eighth District, local schools districts are the largest employers in town. In recent years our public schools have struggled to make ends meet with a sluggish national economy and reduced local tax revenues. Now, just as the economy is beginning to recover and school districts are seeing more tax revenues, ObamaCare is slapping districts with new healthcare costs for employees. The broken Obama healthcare mandate is taking money out of Missouri classrooms and away from Missouri students.
The failures of ObamaCare go well beyond a broken website. ObamaCare marks the first time in our nation's history that American citizens have been forced to buy a product they do not want, that they cannot afford, from a website that does not work. The President's government mandated healthcare plan is hurting everyone from business owners and local school districts to families and individuals right here in Missouri. We can do better. It's time President Obama realizes what the rest of America already knows, ObamaCare is broken and needs to be replaced with a free-market, private sector driven solution.
This Week's Highlights
I enjoyed speaking with local community and county leaders at the Orange Blossom in Ellington on Monday. There were concerns about the new Draft General Management plan for the Ozark National Scenic Riverways and the effects it would have on access to the park and tourism.
I really appreciated the festive welcome I received from the Noon Rotary in Sikeston on Monday!
I had fun working with the kids in Sikeston on Monday to help screen print the new Sikeston Bulldogs Basketball Shirts!

Dialogue with the GOP Establishment

I’ve been carrying on a little tete-a-tete with the head of my county Republican Party, though I seem to have stymied her with my last reply. At least she has given up the effort. I’m interested in what y’all think about this.
This was my original message. The second of the links contains one of the best and most concise accountings of how “progressives”, a name that is the sick joke of this age, have steadily advanced their agenda of turning this nation into another leftist tyranny:
Here are a couple of columns from the Washington Times that should be read by Republican "leaders" everywhere. With this latest abject, disgusting, sickening and demoralizing capitulation, I have about reached the point of wondering how I can continue to be a member of a group which will stand up for nothing but being weak and limp bystanders as the political left destroys this nation. I am positive that at least half of registered Republicans are wondering the same thing.
The first one deals with the path of party suicide that the GOP is on, because it cannot escape being the party of country club wealth and privilege to become a party of American and conservative principles. When the craven and the cowardly, names like McConnell, McCain, Graham, Boehner et. al. speak for the party, it can have no future because it has no clue.
The latter part of the second column is particularly on point, detailing what those of us who are aware of how what has and is being done to destroy this country already know, yet which the Republican “leadership” seem entirely oblivious to.
As I said to anyone who cared to listen a year ago, my candidacy was a battle in a necessary long war. This line is what I was about, “Regaining control of the social hegemon is a long, tedious, and often thankless game, but Republicans—or whatever effective new party might sprout from self-inflicted Republican mass-suicide—needs to start now.”
I was probably the first, and quite probably the last, candidate who ever had the understanding and the courage to speak the truth to “progressives”, and not only did it result in making inroads into the vote total of my opponent from four years previously, given a continuous forum (which I have not the time/resources for) I could and probably would be able to transform that message into a majority of electoral support. The Republican Party could do the same, but it is hamstrung by it “leadership”, which, generally speaking, has neither the understanding possessed by its voter (not financial) base, nor the courage to confront the nation’s destroyers, nor a clue as to how to express that understanding, nor the the valor to continue to express it when attacked.
And the most interesting thing to have been revealed in the past year from my candidacy, is the respect I now receive, not just from the Republicans-with-a-clue who voted for me, but also from many lifelong and doctrinaire Democrats, who probably didn’t. There is still a place in this country for candidates with principles they will espouse and battle for. Ted Cruz is the latest notable case in point. I know this. The GOP “leadership”, particularly in Washington, but also in many states, does not! And so it continues on its supine and spineless path to whimpering suicide.

I then received this reply from her:
I have read every email you have sent me which is usually like this.
Unfortuntely I understand many of the problems.  And they include a wide
variety of views within the Republican party itself.  What we really need is
an understanding of what to do to change things, and then efforts to go
forward in doing so.  In reality it looks to me like the Republican Party
could be divided into about 3 or 4 parties and then we would have views
people could agree on.  If that might be what you want, there is a lot of
work to creating another accepted party and win elections.
As I have listened to “people” thru this whole government shut down I heard
things like “Republicans need to stand up and do the right thing.”   Or our
elected representatives need to do the right thing and end this shut down.
But few were able to articulate what the right thing is. However many of
them felt the right thing was to give in.  Some didn’t – but many did.
If you have a solution and are willing to work towards it please come
forward and do so.  There is so much disagreement as to what the right
answer is or how to get there that it seems impossible.  But what I know is
that the alternative of just giving up isn’t helpful either.
In Lake County there are every few working towards republican values.  As
you found out when you were campaigning, there are lot of conservative
democrats in this county.  But despite that fact, they still vote democrat.

I replied: (The bracketed sentences are what I thought I should have added after I had sent it.)
Sorry to be so late in replying, but I've not had time for politics for a couple of weeks. But, now I'm back in the State of Unemployment again.
As to what to do to change things, I’ve made no secret of my opinions there. For starters, stop doing all of the things that haven’t worked for the past decade or so. Stop always being on the defensive, start making Democrats/liberals defend themselves, start teaching to counteract the brainwashing of the nation that is presently in full swing. To do that, many Republicans, and probably those in the national party establishment most of all, need to face up to the reality of what their opposition is really all about, so there’s much inner-party teaching that needs to take place also.
It is those Republicans who believe that the right thing is to always give in who are dragging the whole party down. And Senators McCain and Graham are the main culprits there. I believe it is those of that ilk who are mainly responsible for the widespread perception that the GOP has no convictions that it will go to the mat for. [These are what Mark Levin calls French Republicans - the only time they display any backbone is when they don't have the votes to surrender, and as soon as they do, the white flag goes up.] The question that should always be asked of those you talk to who believe the right thing is to give in is, “When or for what do you believe is the time to NOT give in?” [And what is the difference between always giving in and giving up?]
Virtually all of the passion and conviction of the GOP these days is coming from the libertarian and tea party elements, and the Party Establishment really wishes they would just go away, seemingly oblivious to the fact that if they do go away, the GOP will hardly win an election anywhere on any level. It, the PE, is so locked into its tried and true recipe for failure (see McCain/Romney for President) that it seems completely incapable of self criticism, and in general operates with all of the acuity and alacrity of a stunned ox.
In sum, I have no end of solutions, but they all revolve around the basic need to Take Off The Kid Gloves and Fight!! We’re trying to save the noblest political effort in human history, not make friends of those who really have no interest in being friends to begin with. If it (i.e., the Party Establishment) actually has convictions, express them, teach why it has them, and stand up for them. If it doesn’t have any, it should sit down, shut up and get out of the way.
Thanks for your time and patience. I do appreciate it.

So, as a solution that I can undertake on a local level, I am mulling around the idea of beginning a Liberty Academy, where once a month or so I would do a 90 minute to two hour Lesson from the point of view of a Joe Blow American who sees and detests what is being done to this country by the “Progressive” Movement. It’s a few months down the road probably, but I’m starting to put together some outlines.
What think you all?

True GMO Science and Dangers You’ll Never Hear About from the Media

Paul Fassa, Natural Society Waking Times
The mainstream media (MSM) usually lamely refers to GMO issues as an undecided debate or controversy, depicting anti-GMO people as “emotional” and “unreasonable” while claiming genetic engineering is more “scientific”. But the only “science” the MSM is exposed to are press releases from the bio-tech industry. The fact is, numerous studies point to GMO dangers, and hundreds of scientists are beginning to publicly speak out against GMOs at large.

GMO Dangers

In the notorious French study conducted by Gilles-Eric Séralini on approved GMO corn and Roundup’s active ingredient glyphosate, used for GMO Roundup ready seeds, rats fed GMOs had developed dramatic cancerous tumors.
Seralini’s two year trial was trashed by the biotech industry sycophants as unscientific, and the MSM accepted that trash without question. Those so called journalists never bothered to check the facts. The rats Seralini used were the same types used by Monsanto for their study to gain approval for their GMO corn.
But the Monsanto “approved” report was based on a three month study. Even without disclosing adverse effects, which is common with studies from industry funded research. The Monsanto trial was obviously too short.
Seralini’s was more appropriate for long term effects, and he added low glyphosate doses measured as equivalent to byproduct consumption of Monsato’s GMO corn. I don’t think Monsanto even included an animal testing for glyphosate.
The good news is Seralini’s study has been validated by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA). Did that get covered by MSM or lamestream media? They probably don’t even know about it, and if they do, they won’t report on it. But here it is for you perusal.
But even before this controversy, scientists who know genes and microbiology, but weren’t bought and funded by Monsanto and their ilk, were expressing grave concerns about the promoter gene used for GMO products.

Dear Family,

As far as I know, I’m not dead yet.  Thanksgiving is still important to me.
If being in my Last Will and Testament is important to you, then you might
consider being with me for my favorite holiday.

Dinner is at 2:00!   Not 2:15.  Not 2:05.   Two!  Arrive late and you get
what’s left over.

Last year, that moron Marshall fried a turkey in one of those contraptions
and practically burned the deck off the house.  This year, the only peanut
oil used to make the meal will be from the secret scoop of peanut butter I
add to the carrot soup.

Jonathan, your last new wife was an idiot.  You don’t arrive at someone’s
house on Thanksgiving needing to use the oven and the stove.  Honest to God,
I thought you might have learned after two wives – date them longer and save
us all the agony of another divorce.

Now, the house rules are slightly different this year because I have decided
that 47% of you don’t know how to take care of nice things.  Paper plates
and red Solo cups might be bad for the environment, but I’ll be gone soon
and that will be your problem to deal with.

House Rules:

1.   The University of Texas no longer plays Texas A&M.   The television
stays off during the meal.

2.  The “no cans for kids” rule still exists.  We are using 2 liter bottles
because your children still open a third can before finishing the first two.

Parents can fill a child’s cup when it is empty.  All of the cups have names
on them and I’ll be paying close attention to refills.

3.  Cloe, last year we were at Trudy’s house and I looked the other way when
your Jell-O salad showed up.  This year, if Jell-O salad comes in the front
door it will go right back out the back door with the garbage.  Save
yourself some time, honey.  You’ve never been a good cook and you shouldn’t
bring something that wiggles more than you.  Buy something from the damn

4.  Grandmothers give grandchildren cookies and candy.  That is a fact of
life.  Your children can eat healthy at your home.  At my home, they can eat
whatever they like as long as they finish it.

5.  I cook with bacon and bacon grease.  That’s nothing new.  Your being a
vegetarian doesn’t change the fact that stuffing without bacon is like egg
salad without eggs.  Even the green bean casserole has a little bacon grease
in it.   That’s why it tastes so good.  Not eating bacon is just not
natural.  And as far as being healthy… look at me.  I’ve outlived almost
everyone I know.

6.  Salad at Thanksgiving is a waste of space.

7.  I do not like cell phones.  Leave them in the car.

8.   I do not like video cameras.  There will be 32 people here.  I am sure
you can capture lots of memories without the camera pointed at me.

9.  Being a mother means you have to actually pay attention to the kids. I
have nice things and I don’t put them away just because company is coming
over.  Mary, watch your kids and I’ll watch my things.

10. Rhonda, a cat that requires a shot twice a day, is a cat that has lived
too many lives.  I think staying home to care for the cat is your way of
letting me know that I have lived too many lives too.  I
can live with that.
Can you?

11. Words mean things.  I say what I mean.   Let me repeat:  You don’t need
to bring anything means you don’t need to bring anything.   And if I did
tell you to bring something, bring it in the quantity I said.  Really. This
doesn’t have to be difficult.

12. Dominos and cards are better than anything that requires a battery or an
on/off switch.  That was true when you were kids and it’s true now that you
have kids.

13. Showing up for Thanksgiving guarantees presents at Christmas.  Not
showing up guarantees a card that may or may not be signed. The election is
over so I’ll watch what I say and you will do the same.  If we all stick to
that, we’ll have a good time.  If not, I’ll still have a good time but it
will be at your expense.

In memory of your Grandfather, the back fridge will be filled with beer.
Drink until it is gone.  I prefer wine anyway.  But someone from each family
needs to be the designated driver.  I mean it...really!

Love You,

Fixing The ObamaCare Website Becoming An Even Bigger Job

Kelly Osbourne flames Obama over L.A. traffic nightmare

Kelly Osbourne flames Obama over L.A. traffic nightmare

Twitchy reports that Osbourne, best know as the daughter of Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne, took to Twitter as the always-intrusive presidential visit to L.A. turned that veritable paradise into an urban nightmare. Osbourne’s stream of invective started off with the news that the E! “Fashion Police” panelist had been “driving around for over an hour trying to get home because the ‘president’ is at a party on my street.”
Osbourne’s scare quotes on the word “president” to describe the nation’s first black chief executive preceded an ever-more volatile tirade during which she alternately fumed and pleaded to be allowed home to feed her pets.

Obama’s Los Angeles visits are always grueling for local residents. The Hollywood-adjacent former school of this reporter’s children requires special pickup arrangements during presidential visits (a requirement that was not in place during Bush visits), though it is far from the epicenter of Obama activities.
As her ordeal continued, Osbourne warned that internally displaced Angelenos were fighting in the once-peaceful streets.
Ok now people are street fighting this is too much all people want to do is go home!
— Kelly Osbourne (@KellyOsbourne) November 26, 2013

A clearly rattled Osbourne went on to say that she did not know Beverly Hills was a separately incorporated city.
Even the mayor of Beverly Hills ps I had no idea BH was big enough to have a mayor regardless they won’t even let her go home!
— Kelly Osbourne (@KellyOsbourne) November 26, 2013

It’s not clear whether Osbourne was referring to former Beverly Hills Mayor Nancy Krasne, whose term lasted from 2009 to 2010. The Garden Spot of the World’s current mayor is John A. Mirisch.
Osbourne is just the latest Hollywood personality to turn on Obama, who has always been able to count a firm grip on Tinseltown as a foundation of his power. During his L.A. visit the president hobnobbed in tony local
es with luminaries including Samuel L. Jackson, Tom Hanks and Magic Johnson. (Related: Obama to Hollywood: Stop glorifying guns)
But the power list of anti-Obama celebrities has grown big enough to fill at least a booth at El Coyote family restaurant. (Related: 4 Hollywood stars who recently came out of the closet as…anti-Obama)
Los Angeles County is fabled for its heavy traffic, and its streets are in atrocious condition after years of rule by a Democratic cabal bent on ignoring traffic realities as part of their insane and delusional crusade to remake L.A. into a “transit-centered” junior version of Manhattan or Washington, D.C. Nevertheless, the area is generally navigable through a “whole network” approach that makes use of surface streets, access alleys and freeways — a process in which an old paper-and-ink Thomas Guide is often more useful than a phone with GPS.
After Obama’s 2012 re-election, Osbourne cheered the result — as not only a win but a victorious win.

We all know the story of the Trojan Horse, when the Greeks offered a hollowed-out giant statue of a horse to the Trojans as a “gift” during their war.

As the story goes, the Trojans, whose city was under siege by the Greeks, accepted the horse as a sign that the Greeks were weakening, when in fact, the hollowed-out horse was filled with Greek soldiers, whose mission it was to open the city’s gates while the city of Troy slept.

The rest is history.

Let’s fast-forward to the present, where the Americans are offering Israel some of the most prized military equipment on the planet, the likes of which include the Boeing V-22 Osprey War Plane, which takes off and lands like a helicopter, but flies like a regular two prop-engine plane, which is not available at any price to any other country other than Israel.

But . . . as great as the Osprey is, it is NOT a war-changer let alone a war winner.

Last week, along with the Greek, Italian and Israeli air forces, America participated in a major aerial war game over the skies of Israel.

Obama and his Affordable Health Care Plan are Substandard

Group Receives $1.1 Million Grant to Gather Obamacare Success Stories

Leah Barkoukis
Cancer patients are being dropped from their health insurance plans, the “keep your doctor” mantra touted by Obama turned out to be a lie, the website is a disaster, rising healthcare costs are making the Affordable Care Act not so affordable, and the list goes on and on. With so much negative Obamacare coverage in the news, it’s no wonder that one “nonpartisan” group has been given a $1.1 million grant to create a database of success stories (unlike, you know, these).
Over to you, Fox News:
Families USA, which describes itself on its website as a non-profit dedicated to “the achievement of high-quality, affordable health care for all Americans,” received the $1,100,000 grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Oct. 4.
The grant, which was first reported by, is meant to help Families USA expand the database of “real people” sharing their stories of enrolling in ObamaCare. Families USA solicits such stories on its website, asking Americans to submit their examples of how they are benefiting from the Affordable Care Act to educate others.
“The best way to do that is to tell your story, giving a real example of the status quo and the impact of change,” the website says.
As one would expect, the group is hardly “nonpartisan.” According to Capitol City Project, the group has close ties to the administration and Enroll America.
With all the negative press and one delay after another being announced, the administration would, I'm sure, desperately welcome such a database. After all, Obama recently said at the Wall Street Journal CEO Summit, “We obviously are going to have to remarket and rebrand,” which he said would be “challenging in this political environment.” But the 'challenge' of doing so may have less to do with the political environment than with the law itself

Hillary Clinton is thankful for managing to escape answering any serious questions about the fatal stand-down orders in Benghazi.

Bill Clinton is thankful for his friendship with Bono, and that Hillary has stood by his side all these years, even with all philandering, illicit recreational activities, dodgy cigars and the national embarrassment suffered after being caught with his trousers down in the Oval office.

Al Gore is thankful that, somehow, Al Jazeera managed to pay him the ungodly sum of $500 million for his failed television channel Current TV.

Piers Morgan is thankful that he’s safe in America and doesn’t have to answer to phone-hacking accusations in Britain.

And last but not least, US Congressman, Senators and White House staff – are all thankful that they are all exempt from having to actually sign-up for Obamacare.

Talking turkey about "our" military on this day of Thanksgiving.
Posted: 28 Nov 2013 03:13 AM PST
Just one tiny little aspect of it if you will.

Last Thursday it was announced that Hussein Obama's regime is looking at shutting down all military commissaries in the U.S.
And why would/should these people (our military, their families, our veterans) be so privileged? There are many reasons not the least of which is that the income of our military is notoriously low and this is a perk to help make ends meet

Just who are these people?

Well, they must be nobodies as far as way too many American's are concerned, because this story has gotten very, very little traction in the news, or blogosphere, or in personal communications if I can judge by correspondence within my own sphere of e-mail.

But these are not your average citizens. They are volunteers for a job the rest of us cannot or will not do. A very small portion of the U.S. population (1.5 million out of 310 million) they take an oath, just as does the President of the United States, to protect and defend our Constitution from all enemies foreign and domestic.

This boldness, this commitment even to the point of giving their lives, is a noble calling.

The ugly details.

According to the Stars and Stripes article, closing almost 180 stateside stores could free up an estimated $800 to $900 million annually out of a budget of $643 billion. Monies "coveted" for use in other military areas. We are talking millions. Not billions or trillions! By the numbers this is peanuts and crackerjack dollars not only in the military budget but also as compared to other government budget items. Comes to mind the recent $2 billion Kentucky Kickback thrown in during the debt limit deal. Every single day SOP with our lawmakers

Why then are they being targeted?

Rather than go into the highly charged "Obama hates our military" mime which IS part of it in my opinion, I will suggest it is additionally more of this administrations Communist agenda of redistribution of wealth. Take from the rich, give to the poor.

As ridiculous as that sounds, because our military personnel are far, far from being rich, this administration is bleeding Americans at every income level and they are not about to leave out the military.

Will we stand?

Hundreds, literally hundreds of times I have heard people question if our military will stand with the citizens when the seemingly inevitable SHTF. I suggest we worry about our own deportment first. Not will they have our backs, but do we have their backs?

Today around millions of Thanksgiving tables words of gratitude will be spoken for our military and God's blessings will be asked upon them. We, the people, must do more than just mouth words and ask God to take care of America's sons and daughters and will you pass the sweet potatoes please.

Contact your representatives!

How Much More Damn It! How Much More? Read it. Then contact your representatives! Let them know that closure of these commissaries is going to put an unneeded and costly strain on those who give so much and they need to dump some two billion dollar Kentucky Kickback somewhere to protect the measly $8 or $9 million needed to keep these facilities open!

Pay it forward America. Pay it forward.
