Two of Missouri’s Dangerous ID bills -- S.B. 37 and S.B. 244 -- were heard in the Senate Veterans and Military Affairs Committee late last week, and media reports say they will vote this week.

Dangerous ID violates the privacy of every Missouri citizen, putting your identity and liberty at extreme risk.

And it does NOTHING to make America more secure, despite what proponents claim.

In fact, if Missouri complies, innocent American citizens like you will be monitored. . .

. . . while those who lack proper documentation will go about their lives as usual.

It’s CRITICAL you contact the members of the Senate Veterans and Military Affairs Committee NOW, and demand they oppose all bills complying with Real ID.

Senator Wayne Wallingford: 573-751-2459
Senator Will Kraus: 573-751-1464
Senator Dan Brown: 573-751-5713
Senator Maria Chappelle-Nadal: 573-751-4106
Senator Bill Eigel: 573-751-1141
Senator Denny Hoskins: 573-751-4302
Senator Jill Schupp: 573-751-9762

Many people even believe the Real ID Act will ensure only American citizens will be able to vote in U.S. elections, but that’s not true either.

Dangerous ID has nothing to do with state Voter ID laws.

You see, the “Real ID Act of 2005” calls for a federal database of all American citizens and forces them to carry a government-approved ID containing “biometric features.”

Gun ownership, health records, purchasing habits, religious beliefs -- virtually anything you could dream up could all be added to this massive, Dangerous ID database.

And you and I both know this power WILL be abused.

Just consider the massive scandal exposing the NSA’s spying on American citizens. . .

Not to mention the IRS harassment and intimidation of Tea Party and pro-liberty groups. . .

We have even seen the IRS try to force Campaign for Liberty to hand over confidential information about some of our supporters!

Can anyone doubt that once “well-meaning” government bureaucrats know exactly how we live, they will ramp up their efforts to run our lives through more laws, regulations, taxes, and other restraints?

In fact, it will only be a matter of time until they spend their workdays making sure you and I don’t go anywhere, read anything, eat anything, or drink anything they think we “shouldn’t be allowed to.”

And BOTH parties are complicit.

The federal government has been pushing this scheme for years. Every year they threaten to take away your right to travel if Missouri doesn’t comply. . .

And every time the deadline passes, the federal government creates a new deadline.

So far, Missouri has refused to give your private information to the feds –- state law currently limits who can access your information and why.

But if Missouri passes Dangerous ID, all of your information will be shared out of state, where unaccountable bureaucrats will control the entire database.

Think about what the federal government could track -- and hence control -- with access to your ID.

If you’ve ever purchased Prozac, they can deny your ability to purchase a firearm. Once they have your ID, they can track both sales.

They can also track your major financial transactions and all of your travel.

This is a dangerous tool in the hands of any government.

Because of advances in facial recognition, your attendance at a political rally can be noted by federal government officials.

If you thought the official “Do Not Fly” list was a problem, wait until this program goes online.

Imagine if you suddenly can’t access your bank account, are denied a lawful firearms purchase, or are stranded in a strange city because some government bureaucrat flagged you after you went to see a political rally or candidate event.

Time and again, we have seen federal bureaucrats and officials mishandle our personal information without so much as an apology.

This legislation needs to be stopped.

That’s why it’s so CRITICAL you contact the members of the Senate Veterans and Military Affairs Committee RIGHT NOW, and demand they oppose all bills complying with Real ID.

Please take action right away, and ask your friends and family to do so as well!
